Joan Bonney, a visual artist, created The Color of Water initiative to promote education about and funding for world water needs.

Thanks to Rotary International, Joan became aware of the wide variety of urgent water problems that exist. Her first inclination was to dash off to help install household sand filters, help dig wells, build rain harvest tanks and improve sanitation. Upon careful consideration she decided she really wanted to paint! Money to support projects and building an awareness of the issues are also necessary to help solve the problems of water shortage and pollution that threaten every living thing on Earth.

Go to “Water FAQs” to learn about some of the interesting facts about water.

One way The Color of Water fund grows is by the sale of specific paintings. Go to “Music” to learn about another.
